"People don't appreciate the substance of things; objects in space"

"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body"

-1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Consider that a disclaimer y'all.

There are times when I truly wish that it were not harmful to smoke. Don't get me wrong, I have neither desire nor need for the temporary calm that nicotine provides, nor do I find the idea of inhaling smoke into my lungs intrinsically appealing. It's just that there are times when it seems like the appropriate, even necessary thing to do, like when you part from your friends under the chill of night to make the quiet, solitary march through the moonlit dark across a stone courtyard with gothic buildings rising all around to the pale light of a grey archway that offers the only passage through the stone, your fingers tracing patterns on the matchbook thrust deep in your coat pocket, and your footsteps the only words you speak. It seems almost a crime against the poetry of life in that moment to not reach inside your coat and bring out a single cigarette that you rest between your lips, strike a match from that book in your pocket, bring the flame to your mouth, pure, shocking, and almost sacred amidst the cold dark, then breathe deeply as the fire takes hold, and tilt your head back with eyes closed to offer the smoke to the sky, almost in supplication to the maker of the stars, a sacrifice of smoke slowly fading into the still, cold night......

Don't smoke, kids. Enjoy the new video instead.
